The pre Keith era could use a little love, and what better than some uncirculated material ! I still think they will do an 80-85 era show ... sometime ? But If they do a early 78 show, as elbow1126 thinks, I will love it . As far as I am concerned they can put anything out form Oct. 71 through the end of 79, and I am happy . But there are some interesting, to great shows in the early 80's . I know the tapes are not always stellar quality form this period, so that might cramp their style . And they seem to have mostly picked safe sales bets for the Dave's Picks, maybe they are afraid the 80's material would drum up the sales they need ? And it sure seems by hinting at that unreleased material, that they are pimping pretty hard for the subscriptions .

I also feel like the '80s will come up this year - Lemieux can't keep picking all '70s forever!
'78 is a good possibility, too, since they're running out of "fresh" years from the '70s.
But they have been doing very "safe" picks so far, as you say - even though anything they pick will sell out anyway, since these DPs are a limited edition.
